My understanding of interdisciplinary studies has drastically changed since before i took the IDS 3933, in the beginning i thought it was just using 2 different topics or theory's and combining them to come up with an answer to a question. Especially in the textbook it gives so many ideas and different uses of interdisciplinary studies starting off with integration where we use the process of where ideas, data, information, methods, tools, concepts, and or theories from two or more disciplines become synthesized connected and or blended together to form one competent idea. Then learning how interdisciplinary is studying complex issues from the eyes of multiple disciplines while drawing different ideas from each one and then using integration while using these ideas. Then learning about the 4 different kinds of intelligence where we have creative intelligence which is required to formulate ideas and solutions to common problems. Analytical intelligence, where we solve problems and evaluate the quality of different ideas. Practical intelligence, where we begin to apply the ideas in an effective way in a practical sense. Finally successful intelligence, where we balance the 3 different ways of intelligence to create a complete whole answer. Also, while using interdisciplinary, we can integrate different insights while problem solving. We start off by identifying different conflicts between or insights and where these conflicts begin, than we will create common ground through the different concepts and theories, than which will help us construct a better, more whole comprehensive understanding of the theories and problems, while finally we will reflect on what we've learned, test each other, and the communicate the understanding of the issues at hand.
